* Medical Image Analysis [#a6159044]
** Special Issue on Computer-Assisted Interventions (CAI) [#j833d74a]
This special issue will aim at presenting state-of-the-art research in Computer-Assisted Interventions (CAI). Thanks to advances in real-time imaging and visualization, medical robotics and multi-modal image fusion, scientist and engineers are becoming more and more able to design, implement and validate innovative and powerful systems in Computer-Assisted Intervention. The authors of CAI papers presented at MICCAI 2008 and its satellite workshops are specifically encouraged to submit the extended version and follow ups of their contributions, i.e. updated and expanded in methodology, experimental results and/or clinical validation, to this special issue. The subjects of interest include but are not limited to:
image-guided therapy
- medical robotics
- soft tissue navigation
- intra-operative imaging
- real-time data fusion
- intra-operative visualization
- surgical workflow analysis
- surgical simulation
…
We invite high quality manuscripts in CAI-relevant research areas, which will go through an accelerated but thorough review process. The special issue will be reviewed by a provisional MedIA/CAI sub-editorial board.
